Disturbing videos emerge showing atrocities against African ethnic groups in Darfur

Disturbing videos have recently emerged of government-sponsored atrocities in Darfur, a region in western Sudan. These videos show indiscriminate violence against African ethnic groups, particularly the Fur, Masalit, and Zanaga. The Sudanese government and allied militias have committed numerous human rights violations, including summary executions, abductions, rape and torture of civilians, and the burning of villages. The UN Security Council declared Darfur a "humanitarian crisis" in 2004 and the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for several Sudanese officials for alleged war crimes. The Sudanese government denies any wrongdoing and claims it is providing security to its citizens in the area.
