Ex-DHS agent who inspired ‘Sound of Freedom’ ‘seriously considering’ run for Romney’s Senate seat

Julie Latin, a former immigration and customs enforcement agent from the Department of Homeland Security, is reportedly considering making a bid for the Senate seat that was recently vacated by Mitt Romney. Latin inspired the film “The Sound of Freedom” with her own story of working on the front lines of US national security. Latin has said that she has been encouraged by several of her colleagues to run for the seat in Utah. If her bid is successful, Latin will be the first Latina to be elected to the Senate from the state of Utah.
