House Freedom Caucus says Biden impeachment inquiry ‘long overdue’

The House Freedom Caucus is expressing support for the House of Representatives’ move to launch an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, calling the development “long overdue” amid several recent scandals. In a statement released Tuesday, the conservative-leaning House group issued its backing of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to investigate Biden and praised her for taking “the necessary steps towards truth and justice.” “From his mishandling of the COVID relief bill, the corrupt Hunter Biden affair, allegations of foreign interference, and his broken promises to Americans, President Joe Biden's actions are long overdue for investigation,” the statement reads. The caucus pledged to work with Democrats “to hold this administration accountable for its actions,” and stressed that “our highest law of the land must be upheld without bias or discrimination.” The Freedom Caucus' backing of an impeachment inquiry against President Biden follows similar statements by high-profile Republicans like U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and former President Donald Trump.
