President Biden concludes trip to G-20, heads to Vietnam

President Joe Biden has concluded his trip to the G-20 Summit in Italy and is now heading to Vietnam.
This is Biden’s first foreign trip since taking office, and is seen as an important opportunity to demonstrate the US’s commitment to global partnerships and diplomacy. During his time at the G-20, Biden discussed the COVID-19 pandemic, the global economy, climate change, and other global issues with world leaders.
In Vietnam, Biden will meet with leaders from other countries attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, and will also look to strengthen economic ties between the US and Vietnam. He is expected to discuss a range of issues including security, trade, and human rights.
Biden is also scheduled to make his first speech in Southeast Asia to mark the 20th anniversary of the US-Vietnam Cromonment of Understanding.
