South Korean Police Shut Down ‘International Crypto Fraud’ Ring, Freeze $1.2m

South Korean police have recently shut down an international crypto fraud ring and frozen over $1.2 million worth of cryptocurrency. According to the police, the suspects operated in locations across multiple countries, including the United States, China, and Mexico. They used email phishing technology to steal private key information from victims, and made off with $2.84 million worth of cryptocurrency. The police were able to freeze over $1.2 million of the stolen funds. They intend to make every attempt to recover the remaining portion of the stolen funds.
