Trump’s ground game shrinks voter registration gap in key battlegrounds
President Donald Trump's campaign ground game seems to be making some progress as it significantly shrunk the voter registration gap in key battleground states ahead of the 2021 election. Trump's campaign invested heavily in a robust field operation, going door-to-door and making phone calls to register new Republican voters.
According to a report, Republicans have made major strides in every state where they put focus like Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona. Despite the pandemic, the campaign's efforts were carried out meticulously to bridge the gap between Democratic and Republican voter registrations.
Donald Trump's campaign's ground game efforts certainly paid off in terms of voter registration. Whether or not that translated to actual votes and an election victory is something that will have been decided on election day.
Please note that traditionally, a strong ground game is seen as key in generating turnout on election day, but it's only one of many factors that can sway an election. Other important factors include the candidates' popularity, policies, particular events during the campaign period, the political mood of the country, and more.
