Blue Origin launches six tourists to the edge of space after nearly two-year hiatus
After nearly two years of pause, Blue Origin is back into action and has successfully launched six tourists to the edge of space. Blue Origin is an American privately-funded aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company set up by Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos.
The company aims at making space more accessible to individuals and scientists, thereby revolutionizing space travel and exploration. The passengers aboard the New Shepard spacecraft experienced weightlessness for a few minutes, enjoyed the spectacular view of our planet, and crossed the internationally recognized boundary of space, the Kármán line.
There's no question that commercial space travel is heating up, with more opportunities for civilians to experience the beauty of space first-hand. This expedition marks a significant milestone in commercial space tourism. It's a step forward towards Blue Origin's vision of enabling a future where millions of people live and work in space to benefit Earth.
