Delta cancels hundreds more flights as its recovery from global CrowdStrike-Microsoft outage lags

Delta Air Lines cancelled hundreds of additional flights as the carrier continued to grapple from the aftermath of a large-scale disruption caused by a global CrowdStrike-Microsoft outage. The airline confirmed that the outage has created lingering process and system issues which impacted their operations. Delta explained that immediate actions have been taken to stabilize its IT systems and as a result, operations have resumed albeit with a reduced capacity. The cancellations were reportedly enacted to give the carrier the chance to reset its operation and allow for additional schedule reliability. Passengers travelling in the upcoming days are urged to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport. Delta also said it would work with customers impacted by the cancellations to rebook flights, and those affected should expect to receive email or mobile notifications if there have been any changes to their travel.
