More than 300,000 air fryers sold at Walmart, Target and Kohl’s recalled for burn hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of more than 300,000 air fryers sold exclusively through Walmart, Target, and Kohl’s stores. The recall affects 4.2 million Tristar Power Air Fryers Ovens, sold under the brand names “Maxi-Matic Elite Platinum,” “Expert grill” and “Dash.” The air fryers were recalled after 32 reports of the units smoking and catching fire, including 3 burn injuries. The recalled products were manufactured in China and sold from December 2017 to April 2019. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled air fryers immediately, turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box, and unplug the unit from the wall socket. Consumers should contact Tristar Products for a free replacement air fryer.
